An AI tutor for homeschooling grades 6 to 8

What it does for your family
- Help with any question from any curriculum. Your kid types it or snaps a photo of the page, and Wiz walks through it hint by hint.
- Practice quizzes for all 280 topics across grades 6, 7 and 8, at three levels, plus custom quizzes on whatever your kid is studying.
- A writing coach that scores your kid’s own drafts and suggests improvements instead of rewriting them.
- Streaks, XP and collectible magic pets that give kids a reason to come back.
- A parent dashboard with each kid’s recent homework questions, quiz scores and writing reviews, and their strong and weak topics.
It works next to your curriculum, not instead of it
StudyWiz isn’t a full curriculum. There are no lesson plans, pacing guides or tests to hand in. It works best next to whatever you already use: for daily practice, for review before a test, and for help when a lesson doesn’t click while you’re busy with another child.
What it covers
Topics follow the Common Core for math and English and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for science. Social studies follows a common US order: the ancient world in 6th grade, the medieval and early modern world in 7th, and US history and civics in 8th. States vary, so compare it with your own state’s standards.
See every topic for grade 6, grade 7 and grade 8, each with a free sample quiz.
Each kid’s profile has its own grade, which you can change at any time from your parent area. Custom quizzes let your kid practice any school topic they’re working on, in any of the four subjects.
Several kids, one plan
- Free: $0. Each kid gets 3 homework questions, 5 practice quizzes and 1 writing review a day.
- Plus for 12 months: $59.99 a year for up to 4 kids, with a 7-day free trial for families new to Plus. That’s $5 a month, or $1.25 per kid per month with 4 kids.
- Plus for shorter periods: $9.99 a month, $26.99 for 3 months or $44.99 for 6 months, for the same up to 4 kids.
- Credit packs: from $4.99 for 100 credits, for families who’d rather not subscribe. Credits don’t expire while your account is open.
Plus is unlimited within fair-use limits per kid per day. If you’re not happy, any Plus charge can be refunded in full within 14 days. See our refund policy.
Questions homeschool parents ask
Can kids in different grades share one account?
Yes. Each kid gets their own profile with their own grade, progress, streak and pets, up to 4 kids per family.
Does it just give my kids the answers?
No. Wiz gives a hint before each step, and the worked step and answer come when your kid asks for them. See how hints work.
Can I see what each kid did?
Yes. Your parent dashboard shows each kid’s recent homework questions, quiz scores and writing reviews, plus any safety flags, and you can download everything from the last 90 days. Kids can’t see the parent area, which sits behind your PIN.
What devices does it work on?
StudyWiz runs in the web browser on computers, tablets and phones. There’s nothing to install.
Can I keep a record of their work?
You can download all of your family’s data from the parent area at any time. Homework questions and activity are deleted automatically after 90 days, while progress, levels and badges stay as long as the account is open.
